POSITION Overview:
Our client, located in the Riverside, IL area, is looking for a Applications Engineer with strong Visual Studio experience with VB.NET in a SQL Server environment. It's important to have experience maintaining SQL databases, and installing them.

Responsibilities:
Create and maintain VB and .NET scripts Support SSRS and Crystal Reports Maintain SQL databases, including SQL data backup, Replication for DR, SQL tuning, and security Maintain EDI server for both VTN and AS2 connections (training provided) Support Microsoft Great Plains and Accellos In Touch (training provided) Provide technical support to end-users. Review system schedules and program instructions. Maintain documentation for reference and create operating reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree Hands-on experience working with .NET, VB, SQL Scripting, SSRS and/or Crystal Reports SQL Server support experience (tuning, Scripting) Teamwork is a critical skill as this position is highly interactive with colleagues and other business contacts and all levels; interpersonal skills will be evaluated Must demonstrate ability to research and resolve problems using a variety of resources and tools This position will be involved in providing 24/7 support, however it's on a rotating basis with the team (once every 5 weeks)
NICE SKILLS TO HAVE:
Strong understanding and experience working with EDI, Microsoft Great Plains and Dexterity
